# Overture attribution evidence — release 2026-06-17.0

Mini Skyline pins Overture release `2026-06-17.0` for its production browser
providers. This file records the theme and upstream-source attribution evidence
used by Mini Skyline as reviewed on **July 13, 2026**. The authoritative,
current [Overture attribution and licensing page](https://docs.overturemaps.org/attribution/)
showed a last-updated date of May 15, 2026 when this snapshot was prepared.

## Themes used by Mini Skyline

### Base — ODbL 1.0

Overture records the Base theme as ODbL 1.0 and lists:

- © OpenStreetMap contributors; [OpenStreetMap copyright and ODbL notice](https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright).
- Data from the [Daylight Map Distribution](https://daylightmap.org/), itself
published under ODbL with [Daylight attribution instructions](https://daylightmap.org/attribution.html).
- © ESA WorldCover project 2020 / Contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data
(2020) processed by ESA WorldCover consortium; [CC BY 4.0 and WorldCover credit instructions](https://esa-worldcover.org/en/data-access).
- Data products from [NOAA ETOPO1](https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/products/etopo-global-relief-model),
identified by Overture as available under PDDL 1.0.
- [GLOBathy](https://www.nature.com/articles/s41597-022-01132-9), identified
by Overture as CC0 1.0 (assumed).

### Buildings — ODbL 1.0

Overture records the Buildings theme as ODbL 1.0 and lists:

- © OpenStreetMap contributors; [OpenStreetMap copyright and ODbL notice](https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright).
- [Esri Community Maps contributors](https://communitymaps.arcgis.com/home/),
identified by Overture as CC BY 4.0.
- [Microsoft Global ML Building Footprints](https://github.com/microsoft/GlobalMLBuildingFootprints),
identified by Overture as ODbL 1.0.
- [Google Open Buildings](https://arxiv.org/abs/2107.12283), identified by
  Overture as CC BY 4.0.
- [USGS 3D Elevation Program](https://www.usgs.gov/3d-elevation-program).
- Qian Shi et al., [East Asian building data](https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.8174931),
identified by Overture as CC BY 4.0.
- Work derived from [IGN France BTN 2024](https://www.ign.es/), identified by
  Overture as CC BY 4.0.

### Addresses — varied permissive open licenses

Overture records the Addresses theme as a collection of permissively licensed
open sources. Some sources have special terms or require attribution. The
authoritative [Overture attribution and licensing page](https://docs.overturemaps.org/attribution/)
contains the country- and source-specific list for this release, including each
source's credit, license or terms link, distributor, and recorded access date.
Mini Skyline uses these address points only to label matched buildings in the
interactive browser preview. It records contributing `sources[].dataset`
identifiers in bounded source provenance and does not write raw address labels
to lifecycle telemetry or 3MF metadata.

### Transportation — ODbL 1.0

Overture records the Transportation theme as ODbL 1.0 and lists:

- © OpenStreetMap contributors; [OpenStreetMap copyright and ODbL notice](https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright).
- Data from [TomTom](https://www.tomtom.com/).

### Places trusted race-track subset

Mini Skyline uses only records attributed to Meta, Microsoft, and AllThePlaces
for its trusted race-track category hints. It excludes Foursquare records and
other Places sources from this path.

- Meta and Microsoft Places contributions: CDLA-Permissive-2.0 as identified
  by Overture.
- AllThePlaces: CC0-1.0 as identified by Overture.

## Public attribution and Produced Work record

For Base, Buildings, and Transportation material, Mini Skyline provides:

> Contains data from Overture Maps Foundation and contributors, available under
> the Open Database License (ODbL), including OpenStreetMap contributors and
> the applicable Overture theme-source contributors.

The exact export manifest identifies which themes and release contributed and
includes the source-credit records above. Mini Skyline classifies printable 3MF
mesh exports as Produced Works: they are intended for printing and display,
contain triangles and material metadata rather than individually accessible
source records, and are not intended for source-data extraction. The manifest
records that no source or Derivative Database is conveyed and lists the ordered
rendering transformations. See ODbL sections 4.3, 4.5(b), and 4.6 in the
[ODbL 1.0 legal text](https://opendatacommons.org/licenses/odbl/1-0/) and the
[OSMF Produced Work guideline](https://osmfoundation.org/wiki/Licence/Community_Guidelines/Produced_Work_-_Guideline).

If a recipient extracts or reconstructs a database, or if a future Mini Skyline
feature publicly uses or conveys a Derivative Database, the ODbL database and
offer obligations must be reviewed separately. The Output license does not
override those obligations.

## Evidence limits

This is a Mini Skyline-maintained snapshot, not an Overture publication and not
a substitute for the source licenses. The Overture page is mutable and does not
label every upstream statement as specific to release `2026-06-17.0`; this
snapshot records the page used for that pinned release, not an independent
certification by Overture. If the official attribution page and this file
differ, investigate the exact pinned release and comply with the authoritative
source terms. Overture and contributor names identify provenance only and do
not imply endorsement.
