The same Mini Skyline as the website, as an app on your Windows PC, Mac or Linux computer. Models are built on your computer, City models can cover up to 500 km² and projects up to 2,500 km², and it gets map data straight from the public sources, so it keeps working even if our servers do not.
Download
Free for Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit), Macs with Apple silicon (M1 or newer) on macOS 13.5 or later, and 64-bit Intel or AMD Linux PCs (Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12, Fedora 39 or newer, as an AppImage or tar.gz). The Windows installer is a download of about 200 MB and takes about 850 MB once installed. It installs for your user account only, without administrator rights. Intel Macs and ARM Linux computers are not supported yet.
Installing
The app is not signed yet. On Windows, if Edge says the file is not commonly downloaded, choose Keep, then Show more and Keep anyway; when Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”, click More info, then Run anyway. Windows 11 PCs with Smart App Control turned on block unsigned apps completely, so the app cannot run on them until it is signed. On a Mac, drag it to Applications, and the first time open System Settings, Privacy & Security, and click Open Anyway. On Linux, install WebKitGTK 4.1 (many KDE and minimal systems do not have it), make the AppImage runnable and start it.
What needs the internet
Map data, terrain and place search come from public sources over the internet, as on the website. Building heights and tree types are built in.
