About Eden Park

Eden Park, a sports venue in the New Zealand city of Auckland, stands where the Mount Eden and Kingsland suburbs meet, three kilometers southwest of the Auckland CBD. Its main stadium is New Zealand's national stadium, with a nominal capacity of 50,000. Rugby union is played there mainly in winter and cricket mainly in summer, and the venue has also held rugby league and association football matches, concerts and cultural events.

In 1903 the site began life as a cricket ground, an idea of the enthusiast Harry Ryan, who approached the landowner John Walters about leasing part of his land for use as a sports field. The name Eden Park came into general use around 1912. The Auckland Rugby Football Union took a lease on the park in 1913 and agreed to pay for its first grandstand, built that year for 2,500 spectators. The first rugby test took place on August 27, 1921, before a crowd of 40,000. In 1925 the union formally adopted Eden Park as its home.

In the final of the first Rugby World Cup, in 1987, New Zealand beat France 29–9 at Eden Park; Australia and New Zealand co-hosted that tournament. In 1988 the ground hosted the Rugby League World Cup final. Redevelopment began in 2008, ahead of the 2011 Rugby World Cup, when it hosted the final, both semi-finals, two quarter-finals and some pool games. New Zealand beat France 8–7 in that final, and Eden Park became the first stadium anywhere to stage two Rugby World Cup finals. It was also one of the venues of the 2015 Cricket World Cup.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

Curved roofs and seating tiers
The stands are tiers of seating, and the south stand has a long curved roof edge. Print friendly adapts thin edges like these to your print scale; Full detail keeps them, and a larger print keeps the seating rows readable.
Many small houses nearby
Rows of small pitched-roof houses surround the stadium. They are fine details, so a larger print size keeps them distinct.
One piece with the ground
Eden Park is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Eden Park takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

Common questions

Is there an Eden Park STL I can download?

Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.

How big can I print it?

Any print size from 40 mm across. Eden Park grows with the print: about 13 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.

Is it free?

Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
