14 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Round tower with a pointed roof
The tall cylindrical tower ends in a slim pointed roof, and several smaller gabled spires sit close by. Print slowly with good cooling; Print friendly adapts the thinnest tips to your print scale.
- Arched windows on long halls
The long halls carry rows of small arched windows and tiled roofs. A larger print size and a 0.12-0.16 mm layer height keep these shallow details readable.
- One piece with the ground
Nuremberg Castle is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Nuremberg Castle takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About Nuremberg Castle
Nuremberg Castle, called Nürnberger Burg in German, is a cluster of fortified medieval buildings in Bavaria, Germany, standing on a sandstone ridge over the old center of Nuremberg. Together with the city walls, it ranks with Europe's most formidable medieval fortifications, and it represented the power of the Holy Roman Empire and for the prominent standing of the Imperial City of Nuremberg.
The castle has three sections: the Imperial castle, the former Burgraves' castle, and the buildings put up by the Imperial City on the eastern side. The first fortified buildings appear to date from around 1000, and three major building periods followed, from 1027 to 1125, from 1138 to 1254, and a late medieval phase that rebuilt the Palas. The Sinwell Tower, a cylindrical keep from the second half of the 13th century, was raised by one more floor in the 1560s and capped with a pointed pavilion-style roof.
After the Thirty Years' War, which ran from 1618 to 1648, the castle no longer mattered as much. During the air raids of 1944 and 1945, a large part of it was laid in ruins, and the rebuilding and restoration took some thirty years. Among its other buildings are the Imperial Chapel, a Romanesque double chapel from around 1200, and the Luginsland, built in 1377 to let the city watch the Burgraves' Castle.
