About Palau Sant Jordi

Palau Sant Jordi, which means St. George's Palace in English, is a multi-purpose indoor sports arena and installation within the Olympic Ring complex in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. The Japanese architect Arata Isozaki designed it, and it opened in 1990. Its maximum seating capacity is 17,960. The Summer Olympics used it as a main venue for artistic gymnastics, handball and volleyball events, and its great flexibility lets it serve many indoor sports as well as concerts and other cultural activities.

Events there have included the IAAF's World Indoor Championships in Athletics and three EuroLeague Final Fours, and it hosted the Copa del Rey and EuroBasket from the quarterfinals on. The FINA World Championships used it as their main venue, with a temporary pool of regulation size installed for the occasion. In tennis, Spain defeated Australia there in a Davis Cup final, winning the country's first title, and also beat the Czech Republic 5–0 in another final.

It was among six sites for the World Men's Handball Championship, and the final was held there; it was also among six sites for Spain's FIBA Basketball World Cup. On October 5, 2016, an NBA preseason game there pitted the Oklahoma City Thunder against FC Barcelona Regal. Behind the main building stands the Sant Jordi Club, which has 3,000 seats.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

Landmark height and scale at three print sizes
Print size Landmark height Scale
160 mm default 16 mm 1:3,750
200 mm 20 mm 1:3,000
256 mm 25 mm 1:2,344

Ribbed dome roof
Fine ribs radiate across the domed roof, and a grid of small studs sits on top. Print friendly adapts these small details to the print scale; Full detail keeps them, which suits a larger print or a fine nozzle.
Smooth roof curves
The roof sweeps in a smooth curve above wavy lower edges. Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm help keep those curves smooth.
One piece with the ground
Palau Sant Jordi is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Palau Sant Jordi takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About this model

Palau Sant Jordi is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.

Common questions

Is there a Palau Sant Jordi STL I can download?

Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.

How big can I print it?

Any print size from 40 mm across. Palau Sant Jordi grows with the print: about 16 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.

Is it free?

Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
