15 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Four leaning light towers
Four slim light towers lean out from the rim of the bowl. Print friendly adapts thin towers like these to your print scale; Full detail keeps them, best printed slowly with good cooling.
- Slim supports under the bowl
The bowl rests on a ring of slim supports with many horizontal bands. Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep these lines crisp, and a larger print keeps them readable.
- One piece with the ground
Sky Stadium is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Sky Stadium takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About Sky Stadium
Wellington Regional Stadium, a multi-purpose venue in Wellington, New Zealand, is nicknamed "The Cake Tin". Sponsor names it has carried include Westpac Stadium, Sky Stadium and Hnry Stadium. Athletic Park was no longer judged adequate for international events, owing to its location and disrepair, and this stadium was built in its place. It also gave One Day International cricket a larger venue, since the Basin Reserve was losing such matches to larger stadiums elsewhere in the country.
Fletcher Construction built it in 1999. It was New Zealand's first bowl stadium. The site is one kilometer north of the CBD, or 0.62 mi, near transport links such as Wellington railway station, on reclaimed railway land that was surplus to requirements. Westpac Trust signed on as naming sponsor when the stadium opened in 2000, and that arrangement lasted twenty years, until December 31, 2019.
Sport is its main use. The Hurricanes Super Rugby team and Wellington Phoenix FC both call it home, and it also hosted the Wellington Sevens, part of the World Rugby Sevens Series. Eight games of the 2011 Rugby World Cup were played there, two of them quarter-finals, along with four matches of the 2015 Cricket World Cup. On April 25, 2013, it hosted the first AFL game outside Australia for premiership points. In 2002 Peter Jackson, a film director, recorded 30,000 fans there for the sound of chanting Uruk-hai in the Lord of the Rings film The Two Towers.
About this model
Sky Stadium is one of more than 4,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
