About Avicii Arena
Located in Stockholm Globe City, in the Johanneshov district, close to the Globen metro station, Avicii Arena is a multi-purpose venue. Earlier it was called Stockholm Globe Arena and then Ericsson Globe, and in Swedish it is simply Globen, meaning "the Globe", since it is shaped like one. It also plays the role of the Sun within the Sweden Solar System, the biggest Solar System scale model in the world. In 2021 it took the name of Avicii, who died in 2018.
The globe measures 110 meters (360 ft) across, stands 65 meters (213 ft) high inside, and encloses 605,000 cubic meters (21,400,000 cu ft). Its capacity is 16,000 for shows and concerts, dropping to 13,850 for ice hockey, and the upper area holds 40 VIP boxes and a restaurant. Berg Arkitektkontor AB designed the building, and Mero-Schmidlin constructed the globe structure. Construction took two and a half years, and the arena was inaugurated on February 19, 1989.
Ice hockey is the main use of the Globe, and AIK, Djurgårdens IF and Hammarby IF all once called it home. It also stages concerts and sports such as futsal, and the Eurovision Song Contest was held there in 2000 and again in 2016. Skyview, opened in February 2010, is an exterior inclined elevator that carries visitors to the top, giving a nearly unobstructed view over Stockholm, using two spherical gondolas that each hold up to 12 passengers on parallel tracks along the south side of the globe.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
| Print size | Landmark height | Scale |
|---|---|---|
| 160 mm default | 26 mm | 1:3,750 |
| 200 mm | 32 mm | 1:3,000 |
| 256 mm | 41 mm | 1:2,344 |

- Skyview tracks and gondolas
- Two thin tracks run up one side of the globe, carrying small spherical gondolas. Print friendly adapts thin parts like these to your print scale; Full detail keeps them, best on a larger print.
- Smooth curved surface
- The big sphere is one smooth curve, so a fine layer height of 0.12 to 0.16 mm reduces visible steps on the surface.
- One piece with the ground
- Avicii Arena is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Avicii Arena takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About this model
Avicii Arena is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
Common questions
Is there an Avicii Arena STL I can download?
Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.
How big can I print it?
Any print size from 40 mm across. Avicii Arena grows with the print: about 26 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
Is it free?
Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
