About Climate Pledge Arena

Climate Pledge Arena is an indoor venue for sports and concerts in Seattle, Washington. It sits on the grounds of the Seattle Center, a civic and entertainment complex of 30 ha (74 acres) north of downtown that was originally created for the Century 21 Exposition, the 1962 World's Fair. The arena stands where the original Washington State Pavilion stood, the work of architect Paul Thiry. The city of Seattle bought the pavilion after the exposition and in 1964 renovated it as a sports and entertainment venue called the Seattle Center Coliseum.

The older arena, then named KeyArena, was replaced after a $1.15 billion redevelopment of the site from 2018 to 2021. The new building keeps the original roof and the exterior window curtain walls, which the city designated a landmark in 2017. In 2018 they joined the Washington State Heritage Register, and also the National Register of Historic Places. Amazon bought the naming rights in June 2020 and chose a name that points to climate change, referring to a pledge that businesses will bring carbon dioxide emissions down to net zero by 2040.

The original arena on this site, then the Seattle Center Coliseum, was the home of the NBA's Seattle SuperSonics from 1967, the year the team was founded; they spent seven seasons at the Kingdome and returned in 1985. It hosted the 1978 and 1979 NBA Finals between the Washington Bullets and the SuperSonics, and the team's departure in 2008 was part of a controversial move to Oklahoma City. Hockey games seat 17,151, basketball games 18,300, and concerts and other events up to 17,340. Tenants include the NHL's Seattle Kraken and the WNBA's Seattle Storm.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

Landmark height and scale at three print sizes
Print size Landmark height Scale

200 mm 13 mm 1:3,000

Slender columns under a wide roof
A ring of thin columns carries the broad roof above the walls. Print friendly adapts thin parts like these to your print scale; Full detail keeps them, best printed slowly with 0.12 to 0.16 mm layers.
Overhanging roof arms
The roof overhangs the walls, and angled arms reach out from its corners. A larger print keeps these projecting parts easier to read.
One piece with the ground
Climate Pledge Arena is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Climate Pledge Arena takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About this model

Climate Pledge Arena is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.

Common questions

Is there a Climate Pledge Arena STL I can download?

Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.

How big can I print it?

Any print size from 40 mm across. Climate Pledge Arena grows with the print: about 11 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.

Is it free?

Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
