9 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Fins and angled walls
Fine slats and thin canopies project from the angled, rounded building volumes. Print friendly strengthens the thin parts; Full detail keeps them, best with a fine nozzle and a larger print.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Mesa Arts Center takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Mesa Arts Center
In downtown Mesa, Arizona, the Mesa Arts Center is a complex for performing and visual arts. It measures more than 20,000 m2 (210,000 square feet), was completed in 2005, and is the state's largest comprehensive arts campus. Four performance venues range from the intimate Farnsworth Studio Theater, with 99 seats, to the Ikeda Theater, with 1,600 seats.
The complex is mostly post-modern in architecture, using sharp jagged angles, canted walls and sloping roofs along with glass walls, and its colors and materials echo the local vernacular. A geode inspired the campus, which leads pedestrians from outer concrete walls into a central space where glass, water and color meet. It was designed to reflect the Sonoran Desert. Bora Architects of Portland, Oregon, working with DWL Architects + Planners of Phoenix, designed it, and Martha Schwartz Inc. was the landscape architect.
Running through the campus is the Shadow Walk, a major pathway. Along it are stainless steel pergolas, giant canopies, water features, sunken courtyards, performance spaces and outdoor gardens. The Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum, with five art galleries, is based at the center, and the campus also has 14 studios for visual and performing art classes. Wayne Brown, who was mayor from 1996 to 2000, championed building the center.
