2 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Low building, fine layers
The museum prints low, so its height is short at the default size. A larger print, with 0.12 to 0.16 mm layers, gives the building's edges and openings more definition.
- One piece with the ground
The Neanderthal Museum is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Neanderthal Museum takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Neanderthal Museum
The Neanderthal Museum in Mettmann, Germany, stands where the first Neanderthal man was found, in the Neandertal. An exhibit is devoted to human evolution, and the building dates from 1996. Julius Krauss, Arno Brandlhuber and Zamp Kelp designed it. Their entry won a competition in the spring of 1993 that drew 130 entrants from Germany and other countries.
The displays fill four floors joined by a spiraling ramp. Fossils from archaeological digs underpin the museum's life-size reconstructions of archaic human species, and the story runs from early life in the African savannas to modern urban life. A collection of casts of original human fossils is also held here.
Outside, the museum has an archaeological park on the original Neanderthal fossil discovery site, a Stone Age workshop and an art trail called "human traces". Toward the game reserve, aurochs and wild horses can be seen. The museum opened on October 10, 1996, and a multimedia upgrade followed in 2006.
About this model
The Neanderthal Museum is one of more than 4,400 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
