Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Shallow doors and windows

The long, low building has shallow door and window recesses along its walls. A layer height of 0.12 to 0.16 mm and a larger print size keep them readable.

  2. Tiny pipes and a small chimney

A few very small pipes and a little chimney poke out of the walls and roof. Print friendly adapts such small parts to the print scale; Full detail keeps them, which suits a larger print.

  3. One piece with the ground

Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park

The Old Mormon Fort, completed in 1855, stands in a Nevada state park. It was the first permanent structure to be built in the area that would become Las Vegas, fifty years afterward. The site is where Las Vegas Boulevard meets Washington Avenue, at the southeast corner of that crossing, less than a mile north of downtown and Fremont Street. The National Register of Historic Places listed the fort on February 1, 1972. No other U.S. state park lies in a city that houses that city's first building.

The fort used the New Mexico folk carpenter style. Its purposes were to ease travel on the Spanish Trail, to support missionary work by Mormons around the Las Vegas Valley, and to serve people traveling from New Mexico to California. Adobe walls 4.3 m (14 ft) high, extending 46 m (150 ft), surrounded it. Like many Mormon forts, it gave local settlers and travelers defense and shelter. It sat halfway along the trail linking Salt Lake City with Los Angeles, and the Mormons abandoned it as the Utah War began.

During the Civil War the fort was called Fort Baker, after Edward Dickinson Baker. In 1865 Octavius Gass re-occupied it and started irrigation works, renaming the area Los Vegas Rancho; the name was changed to Las Vegas in 1902. The Las Vegas Elks acquired the land in 1955, the city acquired the fort in 1989, and in 1991 the state obtained the site for use as a state park. A visitor center and renovation costing $4.5 million, designed by assemblageSTUDIO, was finished in 2005.
