About Old Trafford

Old Trafford is a football (soccer) stadium in England's Greater Manchester, and the home ground of Manchester United. Its capacity of 74,158 is the biggest of any club football stadium in the UK and the eleventh biggest in Europe. Bobby Charlton gave it the nickname "Theatre of Dreams," and United has played there since 1910, apart from the years 1941 to 1949, when the club shared Maine Road with Manchester City because of the Blitz.

United's chairman, John Henry Davies, funded a new stadium in 1909 on a plot beside the Bridgewater Canal, near the north end of Warwick Road. The Scottish architect Archibald Leitch designed it for 100,000 spectators, but rising costs led to a reduction to approximately 80,000. The first game was played on February 19, 1910, when Liverpool beat United 4–3, and Sandy Turnbull scored the first goal at the ground.

Expansions in the 1990s and 2000s added tiers to three stands, the North, West and East, which by 2006 nearly restored the original 80,000 capacity. The record attendance, 76,962, came in 1939 at an FA Cup semi-final in which Wolverhampton Wanderers met Grimsby Town. Old Trafford has also staged England fixtures and games at the 1966 FIFA World Cup, Euro 1996 and the 2012 Summer Olympics, as well as the 2003 Champions League Final and, since 1987, the rugby league Super League Grand Final.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

Landmark height and scale at three print sizes
Print size Landmark height Scale
160 mm default 15 mm 1:3,750
200 mm 19 mm 1:3,000
256 mm 24 mm 1:2,344

A roof of angled trusses
The roof over the stands is a network of angled trusses, the most delicate part of the model. Print friendly adapts these thin members to the print scale; Full detail keeps them on larger prints or with a fine nozzle.
Tiered stands around the pitch
The stands rise in tiers around an open pitch. Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep the tiers distinct, and a larger print size shows the slope of the roof over each stand more clearly.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Old Trafford takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About this model

Old Trafford is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.

Common questions

Is there an Old Trafford STL I can download?

Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.

How big can I print it?

Any print size from 40 mm across. Old Trafford grows with the print: about 15 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.

Is it free?

Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
