Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Railings and a thin mast

The gallery railing and the slim mast above the lantern are the finest parts. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; Full detail keeps them, best at a larger size.

  2. A tall, round tower

The tower is a tall tapered cylinder with small windows. A layer height of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keeps the rings and window frames clean, and printing slowly helps the narrow top.

  3. One piece with the ground

Robbins Reef Light is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Robbins Reef Light takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About Robbins Reef Light

The sparkplug lighthouse at Robbins Reef stands in Upper New York Bay, on the west side of the Main Channel, offshore from Bayonne's Constable Hook, in Hudson County, New Jersey. The tower, with the keepers' quarters built into it, dates from 1883 and replaced an octagonal granite tower from 1839. It sits on a small sandy ridge that Dutch settlers called Robyn's Rift, close to where the Kill van Kull begins, a strait linking New York Bay with Newark Bay.

The name comes from the 17th century, when the area was New Netherland. Rob or robyn is Dutch for seal, and at low tide seals sometimes rested on the reef. The station is also known as Kate's Light, after Kate Walker, who ran it by herself from 1886, when her husband, Captain John Walker, died, until 1919. She rowed her children across to school in Bayonne.

Until the 2000s, the station belonged to the U.S. Coast Guard, which also operated it. The light was offered for sale in 2009 through the National Historic Lighthouse Preservation Act, and in 2011 stewardship of the station passed to a Staten Island maritime museum, the Noble Maritime Collection.
