Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. A wide church on a piazza

The basilica fills its plot beside the square, so the model reads as a broad block; print size helps the massing stand out.

  2. Corners and roofline

The shape is mostly walls and roof, so print size does most of the work; layers of 0.12–0.16 mm keep the corners of the outline clean.

  3. One piece with the ground

Santa Maria in Trastevere is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Santa Maria in Trastevere takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About Santa Maria in Trastevere

Santa Maria in Trastevere is both a titular church and a minor basilica, standing in the Trastevere district of Rome. Tradition counts it among Rome's oldest churches raised to the Virgin Mary, and it has been a cardinal titular church from the 3rd century onward. Its episcopal throne carries an inscription claiming it as the first church in Rome raised to Mary, a distinction others give to Santa Maria Maggiore.

A predecessor probably went up in the early fourth century. Legend ties the site to a house-church that Pope Callixtus I founded around 220 on the ground of the Taberna meritoria, which sheltered retired soldiers, and his remains are preserved under the altar. Pope Julius I rebuilt it on a larger scale in 340, and in 1140–43 Pope Innocent II had it re-erected on the old foundations.

The 12th-century Romanesque bell tower carries a 13th-century Pietro Cavallini mosaic of the Madonna and Child. Inside, 22 granite columns from the Baths of Caracalla divide the nave from the aisles, and the apse holds a Coronation of the Virgin, made between 1130 and 1143, in which Innocent II carries a model of the church. The Madonna della Clemenza, an encaustic panel painting made sometime between the 6th and 9th century, is kept in the Capella Altemps.
