Printing high-density city models with intricate buildings, bridges, and terrain requires a few tailored slicer settings to achieve crisp results without failures.
Nozzle size and layer height
A standard 0.4 mm nozzle works well, but a 0.2 mm nozzle delivers exceptional detail for dense downtowns. Aim for 0.12–0.16 mm layer heights for clean building facades and roof steps.
Wall generation and thin features
Enable Arachne or thin wall detection in your slicer. Mini Skyline geometry includes narrow streets and thin walls that classic perimeter generators can otherwise drop.
Infill and top surfaces
Use 10–15% gyroid or rectilinear infill to prevent nozzle strikes on tall skyscrapers. Set at least 4–5 top layers so miniature rooftops seal completely flat.
Cooling and minimum layer time
Ensure maximum part cooling and set a minimum layer time (8–10 seconds) so the nozzle does not overheat and soften tiny standalone towers.
Bed adhesion and warping prevention
Clean your textured PEI plate thoroughly with dish soap and warm water. For large footprints, consider an outer brim or mouse ears to keep sharp corners firmly planted.
