12 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Finely ribbed saddle roof
The curved roof is marked by many fine ribs. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; Full detail keeps every line, which suits a larger print or a fine nozzle.
- Slim piers around the base
The roof rises above a ring of slim piers and small towers. Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm and a slower print speed help these small parts come out cleanly.
- One piece with the ground
The Scotiabank Saddledome is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Scotiabank Saddledome takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Scotiabank Saddledome
The Scotiabank Saddledome is an indoor arena used for many kinds of events, at the southeast end of downtown Calgary, Alberta, Canada, inside Stampede Park. Completed in 1983, it replaced the Stampede Corral as the Calgary Flames' NHL home and hosted ice hockey and figure skating during the 1988 Winter Olympics. Concerts, conferences, other sporting championships and Calgary Exhibition and Stampede events also take place there. The City of Calgary owns the arena.
It first went by Olympic Saddledome, a name drawn from a hat of saddle-themed suggestions after a naming contest. Of 1,270 entries, 735 involved the word Saddle. During a major renovation in 1994–95 it became the Canadian Airlines Saddledome, and in 2000 it became the Pengrowth Saddledome. In October 2010 Scotiabank signed on as title sponsor, and the arena took the name Scotiabank Saddledome.
Graham McCourt Architects designed the arena, and building work began on July 29, 1981. Its roof is a reverse hyperbolic paraboloid, a shape similar to that of the Scandinavium in Gothenburg, built in 1971. That form gives every seat a view free of pillars and cuts the interior volume by a third compared with traditional arenas, which lowers heating, lighting and maintenance costs. The floating roof can also flex with the city's frequent temperature swings.
About this model
The Scotiabank Saddledome is one of more than 4,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
