Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Print a cathedral large

A cathedral carries its height in upper stages and a tall front, where layer lines show most. A bigger print and Full detail keep those parts crisp.

  2. Slow layers up high

The tallest parts are the most delicate, so print slowly with good cooling. Layers of 0.12–0.16 mm keep the vertical edges straight.

  3. One piece with the ground

The Almudena Cathedral is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Almudena Cathedral takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the Almudena Cathedral

Almudena Cathedral is the Catholic cathedral of Madrid and the seat of its archdiocese. It faces the Royal Palace, and the look of its finished exterior was settled with that royal setting in mind. The cathedral is dedicated to the Virgin of Almudena. Work began in 1883, apparently where a medieval mosque had stood until its destruction in 1083.

Francisco de Cubas designed it, at first as a parish church. A bull from Pope Leo XIII in 1885 created the Madrid-Alcalá bishopric and the plans became those of a Gothic Revival cathedral. The Civil War halted work, and the site then sat abandoned until 1950. That year Fernando Chueca Goitia reworked the design with a baroque exterior to match the gray and white front of the palace across the way. Pope John Paul II consecrated the finished building in 1993.

Inside, the Neo-Gothic interior holds chapels and statues by contemporary artists in a mix of styles, with mosaics in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel and icons in the apse. The Neo-Romanesque crypt keeps a 16th-century image of the Virgin of Almudena. In 2004 the cathedral was the setting for the marriage of crown prince Felipe to Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano.
