169 m of Beetham Tower, Manchester, 46 mm on your shelf
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- A slender slab
The tower is very tall for its width, so the model stands as a thin upright block. Printing slowly with good cooling helps the upper floors stay clean, and a larger print keeps the proportions comfortable.
- Fine layers near the top
The smallest forms sit high on the building, where they are easy to lose. Full detail with 0.12 to 0.16 mm layers holds them, especially on a larger print.
- One piece with the ground
Beetham Tower, Manchester is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Beetham Tower, Manchester takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About Beetham Tower, Manchester
Rising on Deansgate in Manchester, England, Beetham Tower is a mixed-use skyscraper of 47 stories; it also carries the name Hilton Tower. Completed in 2006, it was designed by SimpsonHaugh and Partners and takes its name from its developers, the Beetham Organisation. The narrow site at the top of Deansgate gave it an elongated plan, and the Financial Times called it the first proper skyscraper outside London in the UK.
At 169 meters (554 ft) the tower stood as Manchester's tallest, and as the tallest outside London in the United Kingdom, from 2006 until 2018, when the South Tower at Deansgate Square, 201 meters (659 ft) tall, overtook it. Its elongated plan makes it one of the world's thinnest skyscrapers: on the east–west façade the height-to-width ratio reaches 10:1, though the building is noticeably wider north to south.
Low down, the tower holds a 279-bedroom hotel; the 23rd floor has the Cloud 23 bar, reached past a cantilever of 4 meters (13 ft) that projects from the north façade, and apartments fill floors 25 to 47. A glass blade on the south side acts as a façade overrun and doubles as a lightning rod. In 2007 the tower was named the world's best tall building.
