About Brooks Stadium

Brooks Stadium sits in Conway, South Carolina, and serves as a multi-purpose venue. The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers football team of Coastal Carolina University plays its home games here. It opened in 2003 and is named for the children of Robert Brooks, Boni Belle Brooks and Coby Garrett Brooks. Robert Brooks was born in Loris, South Carolina, and chaired Hooters of America, Inc. Its teal artificial turf is what the stadium is known for.

The site has a longer football history than the stadium itself, because it once held Conway High School's football stadium. Ground was broken on July 30, 2002. The first phase had 6,408 seats, with a foundation built to support later growth to 20,000 seats. The stadium itself was dedicated on September 6, 2003, when the team played its first game, against Newberry College, before more than 8,000 fans. In 2006 the field received the name James C. Benton Field.

After the university announced on September 1, 2015 that it was joining the Sun Belt Conference, the stadium was expanded to 20,000 seats, with a price tag of $38 million. Ground was broken on March 21, 2017. The first phase brought the capacity to 15,000 seats in time for the September 2, 2017 season opener against UMass. The second phase began in January 2018 and added premium seating and an upper deck on the west side. It was finished in August 2019.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

Landmark height and scale at three print sizes
Print size Landmark height Scale
160 mm default 8 mm 1:3,750
200 mm 10 mm 1:3,000
256 mm 13 mm 1:2,344

  • Brooks Stadium model, East view East
  • Brooks Stadium model, South view South

Slim light towers
Four thin light towers rise above the stands. Print slowly with good cooling, and use Print friendly to adapt thin masts like these to the print scale.
Stepped rows of seating
The stands are built from many stepped seating rows. Layers of 0.12–0.16 mm keep the steps crisp, and a larger print size keeps the rows distinct.
One piece with the ground
Brooks Stadium is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Brooks Stadium takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About this model

Brooks Stadium is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.

Common questions

Is there a Brooks Stadium STL I can download?

Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.

How big can I print it?

Any print size from 40 mm across. Brooks Stadium grows with the print: about 8 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.

Is it free?

Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
