About Desert Financial Arena

Desert Financial Arena is a multi-purpose arena. The address is 600 E Veterans Way, Tempe, in Arizona's Phoenix metropolitan area. It lies on the northern edge of Arizona State University's Tempe campus, just east of Mountain America Stadium. The arena was formerly known as the ASU Activity Center and as Wells Fargo Arena.

It went up in the spring of 1974 under the name University Activity Center, nicknamed the "You-Ack," and cost $8 million. It replaced Sun Devil Gym as the Sun Devils' main basketball arena, and Arizona State's men's and women's basketball teams and its women's volleyball team play there. The structure is 123 m (403 ft) long, 100 m (340 ft) wide and six stories high. Inside are offices and locker rooms for several teams, along with a weight room, coaches' rooms, film rooms and an equipment room.

Graduation ceremonies are held there too, along with many concerts and shows. The River Tour brought Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band to the arena on November 5, 1980. U2 opened its 1987 Joshua Tree Tour there with shows on April 2 and 4. The NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament sent its first and second rounds to the arena in both 2015 and 2016.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

Landmark height and scale at three print sizes

Rows of small roof details
Rows of small raised blocks cover the oval roof, and slim ribs run around its rim. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; Full detail keeps them on a larger print.
A low, wide oval
The arena is a low, wide oval, so a larger print size spreads its roof pattern over more space. Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep the stepped rim crisp.
One piece with the ground
Desert Financial Arena is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Desert Financial Arena takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About this model

Desert Financial Arena is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.

Common questions

Is there a Desert Financial Arena STL I can download?

Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.

How big can I print it?

Any print size from 40 mm across. Desert Financial Arena grows with the print: about 5 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.

Is it free?

Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
