About Estádio da Luz
Estádio da Luz in Lisbon, Portugal, a multi-purpose stadium, goes officially by the title Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica. The football club Sport Lisboa e Benfica owns it and plays its home matches there. The stadium takes its everyday name from Luz, the neighborhood where it was built, on the border between the Benfica and Carnide parishes, and the old and the new stadium both go by the informal name Estádio da Luz. The new stadium opened on October 25, 2003, in an exhibition game that pitted Benfica against the Uruguayan club Nacional, and it took over from the original Estádio da Luz.
The stadium was designed by Damon Lavelle of HOK Sport Venue Event, later renamed Populous, to focus on light and transparency. A polycarbonate roof lets sunlight into the stadium. The roof is supported by the tie-beams of four steel arches and appears to float above the tribunes. The arches rise 43 m (141 ft) and were shaped to echo the wavy profile of the three tiers. Construction cost €160 million, of which the Government of Portugal supported €22,596,688 for the UEFA Euro 2004.
Estádio da Luz is a UEFA category four stadium and the biggest in Portugal by capacity, and it is also one of the biggest in Europe. It hosted several matches of UEFA Euro 2004, including the final, plus the UEFA Champions League finals of 2014 and 2020. L'Équipe ran an online poll in 2014 in which voters chose it as the most beautiful stadium in Europe.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
| Print size | Landmark height | Scale |
|---|---|---|
| 160 mm default | 13 mm | 1:3,750 |
| 200 mm | 17 mm | 1:3,000 |
| 256 mm | 21 mm | 1:2,344 |

- Arches and diagonal bracing
- Truss-like arches rise over the roof and diagonal braces ring the outer wall. Print friendly adapts these thin members to the print scale; Full detail keeps them, best on a larger print with 0.12–0.16 mm layers.
- A wave-shaped roof
- The roof sweeps in curves around an open center. Thin layers keep those curves smooth, and a larger print size gives the roof edge more thickness to work with.
- One piece with the ground
- Estádio da Luz is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Estádio da Luz takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About this model
Estádio da Luz is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Common questions
Is there an Estádio da Luz STL I can download?
Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.
How big can I print it?
Any print size from 40 mm across. Estádio da Luz grows with the print: about 13 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
Is it free?
Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
