246 m of Karlatornet, 66 mm on your shelf
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Twisting corner volumes
Four corner volumes turn a quarter turn through the middle of the tower, with recessed balcony slots between them. Full detail keeps that twist and the slot edges; Print friendly eases the narrowest joints.
- Tall print, slow cooling
This is a tall, slender print. Print it slowly with good cooling, and use 0.12–0.16 mm layers so the facade bands and split crown stay crisp.
- One piece with the ground
Karlatornet is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Karlatornet takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About Karlatornet
Karlatornet, whose name means The Karla Tower, is a mixed-use skyscraper in Lindholmen, Gothenburg, Sweden, built by Serneke. The tower topped out in June 2023, and it rises 246 m (807 ft) with 74 floors above ground. It was finished in autumn 2024 and is the tallest building in Sweden.
Skidmore, Owings and Merrill designed the tower, and Serneke Group AB built it; the design came from the firm's Polar Star entry in an architectural competition. The first residents began moving in from August 2023. It is the tallest building in both Scandinavia and the Nordic countries; on September 22, 2022, it reached 193 m and passed the Turning Torso in Malmö.
Karlatornet is one of nine buildings in Karlastaden, a district with apartments, schools, gyms, hotels, offices, restaurants and healthcare clinics. An adjacent building houses a Strawberry hotel with 300 guestrooms, covering 17,500 square meters (188,000 square feet). The tower has five elevators, two reaching 6 m/s and three reaching 8 m/s.
