19 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Protect the slender pinnacles
Small pinnacles line the roofs, and one tower has an open, pointed crown. Use Print friendly at smaller sizes; for Full detail, choose a larger print and print the thin upper parts slowly with cooling.
- Keep the arches distinct
Fine arches, circular window patterns, and curved buttresses give this model much of its detail. A larger print preserves small features, while 0.12–0.16 mm layers help define their vertical edges.
- One piece with the ground
León Cathedral is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. León Cathedral takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About León Cathedral
León Cathedral is a Catholic church in León, in Spain's northwestern region of Castile and León. Dedicated to the Virgin Mary, it serves as the seat of the local diocese and stands on the Camino de Santiago route. Its Gothic architecture draws on French precedents, including the plan of Reims Cathedral. The master mason Enrique is credited with its design. Construction started around 1205 but stopped over foundation problems; work resumed in 1255. In 1302, the main structure was complete and the whole church opened for worship, although the cloister and north tower remained unfinished.
Two towers flank the main facade, with three sculpted entrance portals set within pointed arches and a large central rose window. The southern tower is called the clock tower. Extensive glazing takes the place of much of the wall surface: the windows cover nearly 1,800 square meters, mostly dating from the thirteenth through fifteenth centuries. The cathedral also contains a fifteenth-century altarpiece by Nicolás Francés and a cloister with carved capitals, friezes, and ledges. Its museum holds a collection of religious art, while the building received a Monument of Cultural Interest designation in 1844.
