About Little Caesars Arena
Little Caesars Arena, a multi-purpose venue in Midtown Detroit, opened in September 2017 after costing $862.9 million to build. It replaced the Palace of Auburn Hills as home to the NBA's Detroit Pistons, and Joe Louis Arena as home to the NHL's Detroit Red Wings. HOK designed it with a distinctive "deconstructed" layout: buildings with retail outlets, restaurants, the box office and the Red Wings' offices stand outside the arena, and a roof spans the space separating them from it, forming an indoor "street" that is the concourse.
The eight-story arena is a bowl whose floor sits 12 m (40 feet) beneath the street. For ice hockey the seating capacity is 19,515, and for basketball it is 20,332. A "gondola" seating level hangs above the stands, and the bowl's exterior can show video projections. The arena also holds a practice ice rink of 3,470 m² (37,300 square feet). The Bell Centre in Montreal is cited as one of the biggest influences on the design.
A formal groundbreaking ceremony took place on September 25, 2014. Mass excavation began on April 24, 2015, and an estimated 373,000 m³ (488,000 cubic yards) of soil was dug out for the below-grade bowl, while hundreds of deep pier foundations were drilled and filled with concrete. The steel frame started rising in late fall.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
| Print size | Landmark height | Scale |
|---|---|---|
| 160 mm default | 10 mm | 1:3,750 |
| 200 mm | 13 mm | 1:3,000 |

- Diamond lattice around the roof
- A band of diamond-shaped lattice rings the domed roof. Print friendly adapts it to the print scale; Full detail keeps it on a larger print, ideally with 0.12–0.16 mm layers.
- Roof ribs and small rooftop boxes
- Curved ribs and small boxes sit on the roofs around the dome. A larger print size keeps these details distinct.
- One piece with the ground
- Little Caesars Arena is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Little Caesars Arena takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About this model
Little Caesars Arena is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
Common questions
Is there a Little Caesars Arena STL I can download?
Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.
How big can I print it?
Any print size from 40 mm across. Little Caesars Arena grows with the print: about 10 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
Is it free?
Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
