About the Mercedes-Benz Arena (Shanghai)
The Mercedes-Benz Arena is an indoor arena in Pudong, Shanghai, on the former Expo 2010 grounds. Its earlier name was the Shanghai World Expo Cultural Center, and as the Expo Cultural Center it hosted the opening ceremony of Expo 2010. The AEG-OPG joint venture owns and operates it. Mercedes-Benz sponsored it under a ten-year deal, and the arena took the Mercedes-Benz name officially on January 15, 2011.
The facility seats 18,000 people. It also holds a smaller, more intimate live-music venue called The Mixing Room & Muse. Among Shanghai's most popular venues for concert tours, it books performers in Mandarin and Cantonese as well as South Korean, Japanese and Western musicians. The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, an annual event, took place here in November 2017.
On September 21, 2017, the arena staged an NHL pre-season game in which the Los Angeles Kings beat the Vancouver Canucks 5–2. A crowd of 10,088 watched what was the NHL's first-ever game in China. The arena has also hosted esports events, among them the 2023 LPL Spring Finals, The International 2019 and DOTA 2's Shanghai Major of 2016, plus four matches of the 2024 VALORANT Masters Shanghai, the grand final among them.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
| Print size | Landmark height | Scale |
|---|---|---|
| 160 mm default | 12 mm | 1:3,750 |
| 200 mm | 15 mm | 1:3,000 |
| 256 mm | 19 mm | 1:2,344 |

- Shallow saucer roof
- The wide roof is a shallow dome marked with fine radial and ring lines. Layers of 0.12–0.16 mm keep the lines crisp, and a larger print size keeps them distinct.
- Thin fins around the base
- A ring of thin angled fins and stair-like details circles the lower edge. Print friendly adapts these small parts to the print scale; Full detail keeps them on larger prints.
- One piece with the ground
- The Mercedes-Benz Arena (Shanghai) is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Mercedes-Benz Arena (Shanghai) takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
