About Ping An Finance Centre

Ping An Finance Centre is a supertall skyscraper with 115 floors in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. It rises 599.1 m (1,966 ft) and, finished in 2017, is the tallest building in Shenzhen. It combines offices, a hotel, shops, a high-end mall and a conference center. It stands in Shenzhen's Central Business District, in the Futian area.

Ping An Insurance commissioned the tower and keeps its headquarters there, and the American firm Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates designed it. A stainless-steel facade weighing about 1,700 metric tons clads the building. Eight main columns form the superstructure. The tower stands on an 11-story podium and has a 1:10 width-to-height ratio, and its gross floor area is 378,600 m2 (4,075,000 sq ft).

The Free Sky observation deck sits on floor 116, 562.5 m (1,845 ft) up, and broke the record for the highest observation deck located inside a building. The tower has 33 double deck elevators that reach 10 m/s at top speed (2,000 ft/min). Its foundation stone was laid on August 29, 2009, and it was topped out on April 30, 2015. A 60 m (200 ft) antenna had been planned for the top, but in February 2015 it was decided to leave it off because it might obstruct flight paths.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

A very slender tapering tower
The tower is very tall for its width and ends in a small pointed crown. Print slowly with good cooling near the top; a larger print size makes the shaft thicker and easier to print cleanly.
Fine diagonal ribs
Fine diagonal lines run up the faces of the tower. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; Full detail keeps them, ideally with 0.12–0.16 mm layers.
One piece with the ground
Ping An Finance Centre is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Ping An Finance Centre takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
