About Michie Stadium
Michie Stadium stands at West Point, New York, on the grounds of the U.S. Military Academy, and is the home field of the Army Black Knights football team. It opened in 1924. High on the campus, directly west of Lusk Reservoir, its field lies 102 m (335 ft) above sea level and runs north to south, and its press box sits over the west sideline. Its view over the Hudson River and the campus's Neo-Gothic buildings contributed to Sports Illustrated rating it the third-best sports venue of the 20th century.
The stadium honors the memory of Dennis Michie (1870 to 1898), who helped start the football program as a cadet. Michie graduated in the Class of 1892, and in 1890 he started West Point's first football team, serving as organizer, manager and coach. He lost his life in Cuba in the Spanish–American War, six years after graduating. Army beat Saint Louis 17-0 in the first game at the stadium, played in October 1924.
In 1999 the football field was named Blaik Field, to honor Earl "Red" Blaik, who holds West Point's record for most wins, across 17 years from 1941 through 1958. Under Blaik, Army won national titles three years in a row, 1944 through 1946. The Army–Navy Game was first played at Michie Stadium in 1943, during World War II. In 2020 it moved there from Philadelphia because of state attendance limits on outdoor events during the COVID-19 pandemic.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
| Print size | Landmark height | Scale |
|---|---|---|
| 160 mm default | 15 mm | 1:3,750 |
| 200 mm | 18 mm | 1:3,000 |

- Stepped rows of seating
- The curved stands are built from many thin stepped rows. A bigger print keeps more of them, and layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep the steps crisp.
- Slim light masts
- Thin light masts stand above the tops of the stands. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; Full detail keeps them, which suits a larger print. Printing slowly helps tall thin parts.
- One piece with the ground
- Michie Stadium is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Michie Stadium takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About this model
Michie Stadium is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
Common questions
Is there a Michie Stadium STL I can download?
Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.
How big can I print it?
Any print size from 40 mm across. Michie Stadium grows with the print: about 15 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
Is it free?
Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
