21 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Protect the pointed turret
A small open turret rises to a pointed roof above the main roofs. Use Print friendly to adapt its slender details to the print scale; print slowly and use cooling near the tip.
- Preserve the roof and buttresses
The model has closely spaced roof ridges, window recesses, and tall narrow buttresses. A larger print with Full detail retains these small features; 0.12–0.16 mm layers help keep the vertical details crisp.
- One piece with the ground
Montserrat Monastery is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Montserrat Monastery takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About Montserrat Monastery
Montserrat Monastery, also called Santa Maria de Montserrat, is a Benedictine abbey on Montserrat mountain at Monistrol de Montserrat in Catalonia, Spain. Founded in 1025, it underwent rebuilding during the 19th and 20th centuries and continues to serve a monastic community. The abbey enshrines an image of the Virgin of Montserrat, Catalonia's patron saint. Its mountain setting is 48 kilometers (30 mi) northwest of Barcelona, with access by road, train, or cable car. Montserrat's name translates as 'serrated mountain.'
Work on the basilica first started during the 16th century. Destruction in the Peninsular War led to a complete reconstruction that began in 1811, and Pope Leo XIII designated it a minor basilica in 1881. The Escolania boys' choir is among Europe's oldest and sings for religious ceremonies and shared prayers in the basilica. The monastery also has a publishing tradition: Publicacions de l'Abadia de Montserrat issued its first book in 1499 and is among the world's oldest presses that remain in operation.
