22 m of the Palacio de Cristal del Retiro, 8 mm on your shelf
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Glass and iron at small sizes
A glass-and-iron building has many narrow members. Print friendly adapts thin parts and small details to the print scale; Full detail keeps every feature for a larger print.
- Curved roof and cupola
The curved roof and cupola read best on a larger print; layers of 0.12–0.16 mm keep the curve smooth.
- One piece with the ground
The Palacio de Cristal del Retiro is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Palacio de Cristal del Retiro takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Palacio de Cristal del Retiro
The Palacio de Cristal is a 19th-century conservatory set in Madrid's Buen Retiro Park. Its plan takes the shape of a Greek cross, and almost the whole building is glass carried on an iron frame. That frame stands on a brick base decorated with ceramics. A cupola brings the structure to more than 22 m.
The cast-iron frame for the building came from Bilbao. The design allowed the building to be taken down and put up on another site, as happened to its equivalent in London, but it has stayed where it was built, beside a lake, and its original appearance has since been restored.
It was a main venue of the 1887 Philippines Exposition, together with the Pabellón Central. It no longer serves as a greenhouse. The Reina Sofía Museum owns the building in the park; with the Velázquez Palace, it is one of the museum's temporary exhibition centers and is used for art exhibitions.
