Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Rooftop cabin and rails

A small glazed control cabin sits back on the flat roof, ringed by an open railed terrace. Print friendly adapts the thin rails and frames; Full detail keeps the glazing facets on a larger print.

  2. Balcony and open stairs

An open balcony and two stair flights project from the facade on slender supports. Use 0.12–0.16 mm layers and print slowly so the rails and treads stay crisp.

  3. One piece with the ground

The RAF Rougham control tower is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The RAF Rougham control tower takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the RAF Rougham control tower

The RAF Rougham control tower was built in 1942 to designs by the Directorate of Works and Buildings of the Air Ministry, under drawing number 12779/41. It is a building of two brick storeys with a flat roof, finished in render and covered with asphalt. Its third level was reconstructed between 2002 and 2003. During restoration, the 12-inch thick concrete roof was repaired after water ingress had corroded the steel reinforcing.

The building serves as the Rougham Control Tower Aviation Museum, which describes itself as the home of The 94th Bomb Group. The restored tower, the former control tower to RAF Rougham, stands on Rougham Tower Avenue in Bury St Edmunds.
