92 m of the São Paulo Cathedral, 27 mm on your shelf

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Two slim spires

Tall, narrow spires top both towers. Printing slowly helps tall thin tips, and layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep them sharp.

  2. Pinnacles around the dome

Many small pinnacles and buttresses crowd around the dome. Print friendly adapts these small features to the print scale; Full detail keeps them, which suits a larger print.

  3. One piece with the ground

The São Paulo Cathedral is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The São Paulo Cathedral takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the São Paulo Cathedral

The São Paulo Cathedral, also called the See Cathedral (Catedral da Sé), serves the Catholic archdiocese of São Paulo in Brazil. Its address is the Praça da Sé (See Square). In 1589 the village decided to build a main church on the spot, finished around 1616. A Baroque church replaced it, completed around 1764, and served as the cathedral until it was demolished in 1911. Some rank the present building fourth among the world's largest neo-Gothic cathedrals, even though its dome is Renaissance in style.

The first archbishop of São Paulo, Duarte Leopoldo e Silva, oversaw construction of the present cathedral, which started in 1913 to a Neo-Gothic design by German architect Maximilian Emil Hehl. Work moved slowly, and the cathedral was inaugurated in 1954 with its towers unfinished, in time for the 400th anniversary of the city's foundation. The towers were finished only in 1967. A complete renovation took place between 2000 and 2002, after a long period of decay, and the original 1912 plans turned up inside the building, which made a faithful restoration possible.

The cathedral is 111 meters long and 46 meters wide, and its two flanking towers reach 92 meters. Its plan is a Latin cross, and the nave has five aisles. A dome rises 30 meters above the crossing. The building is Neo-Gothic in general, but its dome draws on the Renaissance dome of Florence's cathedral. Total capacity is 8,000 people, and over 800 tons of rare marble went into it. The east tower holds a 61-bell carillon, installed in 1959, the heaviest and largest of its kind in Central and South America.
