  1. Tower and spire

Towers and spires are the thinnest parts of a Gothic-style church. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; printing slowly with layers of 0.12–0.16 mm keeps them crisp.

  2. One piece with the ground

St. Michael's Cathedral Basilica is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  3. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  4. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. St. Michael's Cathedral Basilica takes the building color.

  5. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About St. Michael's Cathedral Basilica

St. Michael's Cathedral Basilica serves as the cathedral for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Toronto in Canada, and it ranks among the city's oldest churches. It is in Toronto's Garden District, at 65 Bond Street. William Thomas designed it, and Irish immigrants living nearby paid for most of it. Described as a prime example of English Gothic Revival, it was elevated to a minor basilica on September 29, 2016.

Construction began on April 7, 1845, and the cornerstone was laid on May 8, 1845. Fragments of stone and oak from York Minster in England were sealed inside it. It received its dedication on August 29, 1848, and its consecration a month later. The tower and spire were completed by Gundry & Langley from 1865 to 1867.

The exterior is cream-colored brick with stone accents and teal shingles. An iron spire tops the tower over the west entrance, which reaches 260 feet (79 m), about 26 stories above the ground. The design is simplified compared with Gothic cathedrals of the 13th or 14th century, without flying buttresses, transepts or ribbed vaults, and it can hold 1600 people.
