About the Taipei Arena
The Taipei Arena stands in Songshan District in Taipei, Taiwan, and is a multi-purpose stadium. The Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation (TRTC) operates it. It opened on December 1, 2005, and can host major international events in ice hockey, gymnastics, basketball, tennis, boxing, judo and wrestling, among other sports.
The arena was designed by Archasia, a Taipei firm of architects, and Populous, a firm from Kansas City, Missouri, that specializes in sports venues. It stands where the Taipei Municipal Baseball Stadium once stood, which was built in 1958, opened in 1959 and demolished in 2000. The floor of the main arena is adjustable, from 60 m × 30 m at its smallest to 80 m × 40 m. The auxiliary arena, a 60 m × 30 m ice skating rink, is where CTIHL, the Chinese Taipei Ice Hockey League, plays.
The Taipei Arena Sky Screen was built on the outer glass wall in December 2006. At that time it was the largest LED display in the world. Two large gas turbine power generators in the basement can supply the surrounding district during emergencies, and Taipei Arena Station on the Taipei Metro serves the arena.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
| Print size | Landmark height | Scale |
|---|---|---|
| 160 mm default | 12 mm | 1:3,750 |
| 200 mm | 15 mm | 1:3,000 |

- Ring of slender ribs
- A ring of slender ribs and angled struts surrounds the lower walls. Print friendly adapts thin parts to the print scale, while a larger print size or Full detail keeps more of them.
- Sweeping dome roof
- The wide roof curves over the arena with a crescent-shaped cut across it. A layer height of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keeps the curves smooth and the cut's edge crisp.
- One piece with the ground
- The Taipei Arena is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Taipei Arena takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About this model
The Taipei Arena is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
Common questions
Is there a Taipei Arena STL I can download?
Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.
How big can I print it?
Any print size from 40 mm across. The Taipei Arena grows with the print: about 12 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
Is it free?
Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
