About Taipei Dome

Taipei Dome is a domed, multi-purpose stadium in Xinyi, Taipei, Taiwan, which opened in 2023. Its official name is Farglory Dome, and its Chinese name literally means 'Taipei big egg'. The stadium stands on the corner where Zhongxiao East Rd. meets Guangfu South Rd, next to Songshan Cultural and Creative Park. It has a maximum capacity of 40,000.

The project took years to get started. Construction was first scheduled to begin in 2007 and finish in 2011, but the start slipped to October 2011. The Taipei City Government turned down a plan for a major expansion in June 2010 because of traffic concerns in the area, and on December 9, 2010 the city's urban design review accepted the dome's design. The dome was built under a contract linking the city government with the Farglory Group. In May 2015 the city government ordered construction to be suspended. At one stage it was also planned as the main stadium of the 2017 Taipei Summer Universiade.

Professional baseball and basketball games have been played in the dome, and it is also designed for major concerts and entertainment shows. A professional basketball game there on April 13, 2024 drew 15,600 people, a record crowd for professional basketball in Taiwan. The Taipei Metro's Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Station is within walking distance.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

Landmark height and scale at three print sizes
Print size Landmark height Scale
160 mm default 18 mm 1:3,750
200 mm 22 mm 1:3,000
256 mm 28 mm 1:2,344

Fine ribs on the dome roof
The domed roof is marked with many fine ribs and panel lines. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale, while Full detail keeps them, which suits a larger print.
Slender columns around the base
A ring of thin columns wraps the lower wall. A bigger print size keeps more of them, and layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep them crisp.
One piece with the ground
Taipei Dome is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Taipei Dome takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About this model

Taipei Dome is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.

Common questions

Is there a Taipei Dome STL I can download?

Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.

How big can I print it?

Any print size from 40 mm across. Taipei Dome grows with the print: about 18 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.

Is it free?

Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
