About Žalgiris Arena

Kaunas, Lithuania, is home to Žalgiris Arena, a multipurpose indoor arena in the city's New Town. It is the Baltics' largest indoor arena and stands on an island in the Nemunas River. Construction started in September 2008, with the Lithuanian company Vėtrūna as main contractor and Eugenijus Miliūnas as chief architect. The arena opened on August 18, 2011, with a basketball game pitting Lithuania against Spain, and it succeeded the Kaunas Sports Hall as one of the city's major venues.

The building covers 39,684 m² (427,160 sq ft) and has nine corners. Its facade is made of highly transparent glass, and one part of it is a metal wall that has rusted naturally. The seating capacity is up to 15,415 for basketball and 20,000 spectators for concerts. In 2015, it was the first arena anywhere to earn BREEAM In-Use certification for sustainable buildings.

BC Žalgiris, the most titled Lithuanian basketball team, has played its home games there since the opening. The arena hosted the playoffs and finals of EuroBasket 2011, played in September 2011. The 2023 EuroLeague Final Four was held there on May 19–21, 2023, a first for Lithuanian sports history, and Real Madrid won the championship game against Olympiacos 79–78. Lithuania's first science and innovation center, Mokslo sala (Science Island), is next to the arena.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

Landmark height and scale at three print sizes
Print size Landmark height Scale
160 mm default 10 mm 1:3,750
200 mm 13 mm 1:3,000
256 mm 16 mm 1:2,344

Facade lettering and stairs
The facade carries large lettering, stacked balcony levels and an exterior staircase. Print friendly adapts these small details to the print scale; Full detail keeps them, which suits a larger print.
A wide oval roof
The roof is a broad oval rim with small boxes on top. Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm help the rim and those small boxes stay crisp.
One piece with the ground
Žalgiris Arena is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Žalgiris Arena takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About this model

Žalgiris Arena is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.

Common questions

Is there a Žalgiris Arena STL I can download?

Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.

How big can I print it?

Any print size from 40 mm across. Žalgiris Arena grows with the print: about 10 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.

Is it free?

Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
