About the Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower is a lattice tower that stands in Paris, France, on the Champ de Mars. Its name comes from the engineer Gustave Eiffel, and his company designed and built it between 1887 and 1889 as the centerpiece of the 1889 World's Fair, which marked the hundredth anniversary of the French Revolution. Because it is made of wrought iron, it is nicknamed "La dame de fer," the Iron Lady.

The design is credited to two senior engineers at Eiffel's firm, Maurice Koechlin and Émile Nouguier. Stephen Sauvestre, who headed the company's architectural department, then added decorative arches to the base and a glass pavilion for the first level. The tower is 330 meters (1,083 ft) tall and is the tallest structure in Paris. Its square base measures 125 meters (410 ft) along each side.

When it was built, the tower passed the Washington Monument to become the world's tallest human-made structure, a title it kept for 41 years, until New York City's Chrysler Building was finished in 1930. It was also the first structure to rise above both 200 and 300 meters. Visitors reach three levels, and the upper platform of the top level, 276 m (906 ft) up, is the highest observation deck open to the public anywhere in the European Union.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

Landmark height and scale at three print sizes
Print size Landmark height Scale
160 mm default 89 mm 1:3,750
200 mm 111 mm 1:3,000
256 mm 142 mm 1:2,344

Thin layers for the spire
Above the platforms the tower narrows to a slim spire. Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep the tip crisp, and printing slowly helps the tall, thin top hold together.
Lattice and landmark detail
The legs and upper tower are open ironwork. Print friendly adapts the thin members to your print scale; Full detail keeps every one, which suits a larger print or a fine nozzle.
One piece with the ground
The Eiffel Tower is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Eiffel Tower takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About this model

The Eiffel Tower is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.

Common questions

Is there an Eiffel Tower STL I can download?

Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.

How big can I print it?

Any print size from 40 mm across. The Eiffel Tower grows with the print: about 89 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.

Is it free?

Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
