About the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University

Rutgers University's Voorhees Mall, on the New Brunswick, New Jersey campus, is home to the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum, popularly called the Zimmerli Art Museum. The museum began as the Rutgers University Art Gallery, founded in 1966 to mark the university's bicentennial. Expanded in 1983, the gallery took the name Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum, honoring Ralph and Alan Voorhees's mother; the two were the major benefactors of the expansion.

The museum occupies a facility of 70,000 square feet. Its collection includes the Dodge Collection of Russian and Soviet Nonconformist art, American art from the eighteenth century up to today, and European art covering six centuries, with special emphasis on nineteenth-century French works. The museum is also known for works on paper, among them prints, drawings, photographs, original children's book illustrations and rare books.

The Zimmerli is a teaching museum that presents exhibitions from an interdisciplinary perspective. Rutgers faculty from the humanities and the sciences use it in their classes, and it collaborates with the university's art history department in curatorial training programs. The museum also houses a café and offers tours for groups.

Wide, low roofs
The museum is a wide, low building with flat, stepped roofs, so most of the print is level planes. A layer height of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keeps the edges crisp.
One piece with the ground
The Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
