15 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Masts and tie rods
The long roofs carry king-post masts with thin tie rods, the highest points of the model. Print friendly adapts these slim members to your scale; a larger print keeps them separate.
- Roof fascias and sloped edge
The side roofs end in thin front fascias, and the south roof turns down as a sloped edge. Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm help these narrow bands stay crisp.
- One piece with the ground
The Ellis Park Stadium is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Ellis Park Stadium takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Ellis Park Stadium
Ellis Park is a ground in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa, used for both rugby union and association football. It is home to the Lions, who play in the United Rugby Championship, and the Golden Lions of the Currie Cup. The stadium takes its name from J. D. Ellis, who made the land available for it.
The site was secured in 1927, and the ground took eight months to build; the first test match, against the All Blacks, followed in June 1928. The old stadium was demolished in 1979 and rebuilt, and an upgrade in 1982 made it the country's most modern at the time, with room for almost 60,000 people.
Ellis Park hosted the 1995 Rugby World Cup final on June 24, 1995, when South Africa won 15–12 against New Zealand after extra time before 65,000 spectators. It was also a venue at the 2010 FIFA World Cup, with five matches in the group stage, one in the second round and one quarter-final, and 5,000 places were added on the north side, bringing the capacity to 62,000. Concerts and other large events are held there as well.
