13 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Masts over the main stand
A row of raking steel masts and their ties crowns the cantilever roof. Print friendly adapts these thin members at print scale; a larger print keeps them sharper.
- Ledge between the two tiers
An advertising walkway splits the open bowl into a lower and an upper tier and reads as a thin ledge. Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep that step and the rim crisp.
- One piece with the ground
The Royal Bafokeng Stadium is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Royal Bafokeng Stadium takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Royal Bafokeng Stadium
The Royal Bafokeng Nation built this ground at Phokeng, outside Rustenburg in South Africa, and still manages it; soccer, rugby and athletics all use it. Platinum Stars, a Premiership club, used it as its home stadium, while the Leopards rugby side bring in the big Currie Cup crowds rather than playing at Olën Park.
The 2010 FIFA World Cup reshaped the stadium: capacity rose from 38,000 to 44,530 so that it could stage five games in the first round and one in the second, and it was the second smallest venue of the tournament. Before that it served as a venue for the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup, and an upgrade finished in March 2009 let it take four matches of that event. The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations also used it as one of its venues.
For the World Cup the main west stand was made bigger and given a new cantilever roof. The same works installed electronic scoreboards and new seats and upgraded the floodlights and public address system. In 2019 the ground held Cassper Nyovest's Fill Up Royal Bafokeng concert, a show with a capacity of more than 40,000.
About this model
The Royal Bafokeng Stadium is one of more than 4,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
