Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Leaning column cage

The columns rake out from the ground to the roof edge, with X braces above the container stacks. Keep Full detail, or print larger, so the slender members and braces survive.

  2. Container stack joints

The stair towers are stacks of containers against the facade, and their joints are fine relief. Print at 0.12–0.16 mm layers so the seams still show on a small model.

  3. One piece with the ground

Stadium 974 is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Stadium 974 takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About Stadium 974

Stadium 974 stands in Ras Abu Aboud, Doha, Qatar, roughly 10 kilometers (6.2 mi) southeast of the city center. It opened on November 30, 2021, having first been announced as Ras Abu Aboud Stadium. It was the first venue planned as a temporary one in the history of the FIFA World Cup, and it was a venue of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, with seven games played there, among them Brazil against South Korea in the round of sixteen.

Fenwick Iribarren Architects of Spain created the design alongside Lars Nyström, Hilson Moran and Schlaich Bergermann Partner. Repurposed shipping containers and recycled steel kept construction cost-effective and waste low. The structure incorporates 974 recycled shipping containers, a number that pays homage to the site, its industrial past and Qatar's dialing code, +974. The ground occupies a 450,000 square-meter (111-acre) waterfront site.

The design is modular, and its architects said they wanted to avoid a white elephant, a stadium that sits unused or underused once the tournament is over. Its procurement process began in 2017, and it is one of the eight venues prepared for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, whether newly built, renovated or reconstructed. Test matches at the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup came before the World Cup.
