200 m of 8 Canada Square, 55 mm on your shelf
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Slow down near the top
The tower is tall and slender, so print it at a larger size and reduce speed near the top for cleaner layers. Full detail suits a fine nozzle; Print friendly simplifies the facade at small sizes.
- One piece with the ground
8 Canada Square is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. 8 Canada Square takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About 8 Canada Square
8 Canada Square is HSBC's global headquarters, a 45-floor tower in Canary Wharf, London. It is a glass-clad office tower. Norman Foster was appointed as architect; he had already designed HSBC's Hong Kong head office. Building work started in January 1999, and the first employees arrived during 2002.
In the summer of 2000 crews began fitting 4,900 glass panels, and the structure was topped out on March 7, 2001. The hoisting of the final steel girder drew bankers, journalists and contractors. Staff moved in on September 2, 2002; phased occupation ended on February 17, 2003, and Sir John Bond opened the tower officially on April 2, 2003.
Two bronze lions named Stephen and Stitt stand at the main entrance. In April 2007 the property became the first in Britain to fetch more than £1bn; the buyer was the Spanish property company Metrovacesa. Under a tree across the way, a plaque remembers three workmen who died in a crane accident in 2000.
About this model
