About Adelaide Town Hall

The town hall stands on King William Street in the South Australian city of Adelaide. This civic building holds the Lord Mayor's chambers and the Adelaide City Council offices, along with rooms for meetings, concerts and public functions. It is built mainly of local freestone and bluestone.

Edmund Wright and Edward Woods won an architectural competition, and construction began in March 1863. Governor Dominic Daly officially opened the hall on June 20, 1866. Their Classical Revival design has a symmetrical, colonnaded facade with Corinthian detailing. Between 1869 and 1882 further wings and council chambers were added.

The Albert Tower is a clock and bell tower approximately 46 m (150 feet) high. The council named it to honor Prince Albert, who died in 1861, and a clock was installed in 1935. In June 1964, on their Australian tour, the Beatles appeared on its balcony. The auditorium has a pipe organ installed in 1990.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

A clock tower with a lantern
The slender tower ends in a small domed lantern. Print slowly with good cooling, and use a bigger print size or 0.12–0.16 mm layers to keep the top crisp.
Many small roof forms
Several pitched roofs and small rooftop details make for fine detail. Print friendly adapts the thinnest parts to your scale; Full detail suits a large print.
One piece with the ground
Adelaide Town Hall is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Adelaide Town Hall takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
