About Adelaide
South Australia's capital and most populous city, Adelaide ranks fifth among Australian cities by population. It occupies the Adelaide Plains, with the Fleurieu Peninsula to its south, the Mount Lofty Ranges on its eastern side and Gulf St Vincent on its western side. The Kaurna are the region's traditional owners, and Tarndanya is their name for the city center and surrounding Park Lands. The city is named for King William IV's wife, Adelaide of Saxe-Meiningen, and was established in 1836 as the planned capital of a British colony in Australia that was freely settled.
Colonel William Light designed the city center on a grid with large public squares and wide boulevards, all ringed by parks, and his design is listed as national heritage. Local stone was plentiful in the early years, so many city buildings were built of bluestone. The South Australian Museum (1856) on North Terrace is a Gothic-inspired Victorian building with a mansard roof and an octagonal tower in the French Renaissance style. St Peter's Cathedral (1869), a Gothic Revival work by William Butterfield, dominates King William Street. The new Parliament House (1889) was proposed with a dome and elaborate towers, but funding constraints meant they were never built.

Common questions
Are these Adelaide landmark models free?
Yes. All 5 models on this page are free. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
Can I download Adelaide landmark STL files?
Mini Skyline builds each file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.
How tall do the Adelaide landmarks print?
On the default 160 mm print they stand between about 8 and 15 mm tall. Each landmark grows with the print size, and Make this print opens the generator with its area already selected. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
