6 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Museum inside a city block
The model sets the museum among surrounding streets and buildings. Print friendly adapts the smallest neighboring details at the default size; a larger print or Full detail keeps more of them.
- Layer height for the roofline
At print scale the roofline carries much of the building's shape. Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep that edge clean.
- One piece with the ground
The Allard Pierson Museum is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Allard Pierson Museum takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Allard Pierson Museum
The Allard Pierson Museum is the University of Amsterdam's archaeological museum, housed on Amsterdam's Oude Turfmarkt at number 127. Its galleries hold artifacts from ancient Egypt, the Near East, Greece, Etruria and the Roman Empire. The collection includes art objects and utensils from 4000 BC to 500 AD, as well as models of ancient temples and buildings.
The museum is named after Allard Pierson, the university's first professor of classical archaeology, who assembled a collection of plaster casts between 1877 and 1895. In 1932 his son Jan Lodewijk set up the Allard Pierson Foundation, and the museum officially opened on November 12, 1934 at Sarphatistraat 129-131. It reopened in the former Nederlandse Bank office at Oude Turfmarkt on October 6, 1976, with Princess Beatrix attending.
The Egyptian galleries include a room devoted to death, with mummies and sarcophagi, plus a film about mummification. A plaster-cast attic known as the Gipsengalerij can be visited only on a guided tour, showing copies of Roman and Greek statues. Greek pottery in the collection covers black-figure and red-figure work from the fifth and sixth centuries BC, and the Roman sarcophagi include a wooden coffin from around 150 AD, carved in part to the shape of the man inside.
