About Amsterdam
Amsterdam, in the province of North Holland, is the Netherlands' capital and largest city, with 941,873 residents in 2026. It was founded at the Amstel river's mouth, where the river was dammed to control flooding, and in the 12th century it was a small fishing village. During the 17th-century Dutch Golden Age, it became a major world port and a leading center for finance and trade. Its many canals earned it the nickname "Venice of the North," and they hold UNESCO World Heritage Site status. Although it is the official capital, the government sits in The Hague.
Amsterdam's oldest building, the Oude Kerk, was consecrated in 1306, and its oldest wooden one, Het Houten Huys, dates from around 1425. Brick buildings replaced razed wooden ones during the 16th century, many in the Dutch Renaissance style with stepped gable facades. Baroque architecture became popular in the 17th century, roughly alongside the Golden Age, and the Royal Palace on Dam Square is a famous example. Around 1815 architects moved to neo-styles. Jugendstil, or Art Nouveau, followed late in the 19th century, and the city's own version of Art Deco, the Amsterdamse School, shaped whole districts such as the Rivierenbuurt.

Common questions
Are these Amsterdam landmark models free?
Yes. All 7 models on this page are free. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
Can I download Amsterdam landmark STL files?
Mini Skyline builds each file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.
How tall do the Amsterdam landmarks print?
On the default 160 mm print they stand between about 5 and 23 mm tall. Each landmark grows with the print size, and Make this print opens the generator with its area already selected. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
