Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Preserve the stepped spire

The stepped spire ends in a small disk and pointed tip. Choose Print friendly to adapt these small features to the print scale, or use Full detail for a larger print; print slowly with cooling near the tip.

  2. Keep the dome detail clear

Fine lines run down the dome, and small stairs interrupt the stepped platform. Increase the print size to preserve these details, and use 0.12–0.16 mm layers for crisp vertical features.

  3. One piece with the ground

Boudhanath is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Boudhanath takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About Boudhanath

Boudhanath, also called Boudha Stupa or Khasti Chaitya, is a Buddhist pilgrimage site in Kathmandu's Boudha neighborhood in Nepal. It occupies the northeastern part of Kathmandu Valley, where rice paddies once surrounded it. Its large mandala layout makes it Nepal's largest spherical stupa and places it among the largest spherical stupas worldwide. The existing structure probably dates to the 14th century, while Newar chronicles describe a stupa at this location during the 5th century. It belongs to the Kathmandu Valley UNESCO World Heritage Site, designated in 1979.

An old trading route linking Tibet with India passes through the stupa's location, and Tibetan merchants have stopped here for rest and prayer over centuries. After the Tibetan uprising of 1959, refugees settled around the monument in Boudha. The Tibetan diaspora contributed to the development of Buddhist monasteries, restaurants, guesthouses, and craft businesses nearby. A shrine at the principal northern entrance honors the protectress Mammo Pukkasi, whom local Newari Buddhists call Hariti or Ajima. Mahaguru Gompa, facing that entrance, is responsible for the shrine and its Ganachakra offerings.
