Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. A very flat, wide site

At this scale the station sits almost level with the streets around it and covers a wide area. Print it large enough, or choose Full detail, that the station still reads against the surrounding blocks.

  2. Long straight edges

Most of the model is long straight edges and flat roofs. Slow the print down over those wide surfaces, and 0.12 to 0.16 mm layers keep the edges crisp.

  3. One piece with the ground

Clapham Junction railway station is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Clapham Junction railway station takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About Clapham Junction railway station

Clapham Junction is a big interchange station in southwest London, at St John's Hill in Battersea, within the London Borough of Wandsworth in England. It opened on March 2, 1863 as a joint venture of the London and South Western Railway, the London, Brighton & South Coast Railway and the West London Extension Railway, and it was built for passengers changing between their lines. The name misleads: Clapham itself lies about 1.6 km (a mile) away, to the south-east.

The South West Main Line and the Brighton Main Line both run through it, along with many other routes and branch lines that pass through or split off there. It is a southern terminus of two London Overground lines, the Mildmay and the Windrush. Because trains from Victoria and Waterloo funnel through it, it sees more trains than any other station in Europe, between 100 and 180 an hour outside the five hours after midnight. It is also the busiest station in Britain for interchanges, and the only one in Great Britain where interchanges outnumber entries and exits.

The station has 17 platforms, numbered 1 to 17: London Overground uses the two bay platforms, South Western Railway the middle group and Southern the rest, while non-stop Gatwick Express trains run through two of them. More than 2,000 trains a day pass through, over half of them stopping. The south-west entrance, known as Brighton Yard, keeps a Victorian station building at the back of a forecourt and leads onto a very wide covered footbridge joining the western ends of every platform.
