Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Rounded outline at scale

The depot has a rounded, bowl-like outline. A larger print helps the curve read, and 0.12–0.16 mm layers keep the wall edges clean.

  2. Outer wall surfaces

The outer walls are broad surfaces where layer lines show. Print slowly on the tall walls, and use 0.12–0.16 mm layers to keep the surface clean.

  3. One piece with the ground

The Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen

The art depot for Rotterdam's Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen was the world's first art depot open to the public. It was first called het Collectiegebouw, the Collection Building, and is popularly known as The Pot. The 39.5 meter high building is shaped like a bowl and covered with reflective plates that form a reduced mirror image of its surroundings; it was designed by the Dutch firm MVRDV.

The depot grew out of a problem with the museum's old storage. In 2013 severe flooding there caused little loss but showed the risks of storage below sea level, and a depot had been discussed since 2007. Only 6 to 8 percent of the museum's more than 150,000 artworks could be shown at any time, so director Sjarel Ex envisioned a place where the rest could also be open to the public.

The Rotterdam city council approved the zoning change in the Museum Park on November 5, 2015. Construction began with the first pile on March 17, 2017, and the finished building has seven floors, a roof restaurant with 120 seats, and 1,664 mirror panels covering 6,609 m2. It opened to the public on November 5, 2021, and it houses more than 151,000 objects in fourteen storage compartments with five climates.
