11 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Long walls of windows
The long wings are covered in small window grids. Print friendly adapts fine detail to the print scale; Full detail keeps it on a larger print with a layer height of 0.12-0.16 mm.
- A big, low footprint
The building is long, so the model fits a large print bed best. A bigger print size keeps the window rows from blurring.
- One piece with the ground
The Edison Storage Battery Company Building is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Edison Storage Battery Company Building takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Edison Storage Battery Company Building
The Edison Storage Battery Company Building has its address at 177 Main Street, at Lakeside Avenue, in West Orange, New Jersey, in Essex County. It was a factory where the Edison Storage Battery Company made the nickel-iron batteries that Thomas Edison developed in 1901.
Production started around 1903, and it stopped in 1975 after Edison Storage was sold to Exide. A National Register of Historic Places listing for the building dates from February 28, 1996. That puts the start of production about two years after Edison's 1901 development of the battery.
