About Empower Field at Mile High

Empower Field at Mile High, a stadium for American football, stands in Denver, Colorado, in the western United States. It opened in 2001 as the home of the NFL's Denver Broncos, replacing the Broncos' original stadium, Mile High Stadium. The nickname Mile High comes from that predecessor and refers to the city's height of 5,280 feet (1,610 m), one mile, above sea level. Altitude makes competing difficult and the fans are famously loud, so the Broncos are known for one of the league's best home-field advantages.

Lacrosse's Denver Outlaws and soccer's Colorado Rapids are among the stadium's former tenants. It has hosted many concerts, and during the 2008 Democratic National Convention it was the site where Barack Obama accepted the Democratic Party's presidential nomination. It has also staged the college football rivalry game between Colorado State University and the University of Colorado Boulder, as well as a Drum Corps International Championship in 2004.

Denver-area voters approved Referendum 4A in November 1998, which backed building a new football stadium to replace Mile High Stadium. Under the funding deal, the team was to cover 25% of an estimated $400 million cost and the state the other 75%. A $30 million renovation, announced ahead of the 2013 season, included a new HD LED video board for the south end zone that was three times the size of the board from the early 2000s.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

Landmark height and scale at three print sizes
Print size Landmark height Scale
160 mm default 16 mm 1:3,750
200 mm 20 mm 1:3,000
256 mm 25 mm 1:2,344

Many thin seating tiers
The seating bowl is made of many thin tiers, and a slim rail rings the upper rim. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; Full detail keeps every tier, best on a larger print with 0.12–0.16 mm layers.
Open frames and the video board
The open-framed towers at the stadium's corners and the tall video board have slender supports. Printing slowly with good cooling helps the thinnest parts.
One piece with the ground
Empower Field at Mile High is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Empower Field at Mile High takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
